Who are these Alwars?

Allwars are normal human beings who sacrificed and dedicated their life on love with lord vishnu and they are said to be amsam (a replica) of lord vishnu's incarnations in the earth. 

They represented and promoted Vaishavism (worship of lord vishnu) in earth through their poems on Lord Vishnu which is known by the name "108 - Mangalasasanam"

Each Mangalasasanam has been written and sung on praise of lord vishnu at various spaces and various forms so called 108 Divya Desangal.

One of the unique identity among these alwars is ANDAL, who is the only woman known to be the only and first woman alwar.

We do worship these alwars to get boons of lord vishnu through the service of mankind and preaching of love among all living beings in earth. We are construed to be the servant of all living beings on behalf of lord vishnu, and we obey the commands of alwars who are the amsams of lord vishnu.
